I’m applying to the Chinese Language Program at Ningbo University because I believe the most effective way to learn a language is to live in the environment it’s spoken. Being in China won’t just help me study Chinese in class, it’ll also give me the chance to use it in real-life situations every day, which I see as essential for real progress.
I chose Ningbo University because it offers a strong academic environment and has an international community. For me, it’s important not only to learn textbooks, but also to interact with people different backgrounds, exchange experiences, and be part of student life. I think this kind of environment will make my learning more engaging and meaningful.
Another reason I chose Ningbo is the city itself. It seems to offer a balance between modern development and traditional Chinese culture. I’m interested in experiencing both — daily life in a modern Chinese city and its history and cultural heritage. I believe this will help me better understand the language in its real context.
Right now, my main goal is to build a strong foundation in Chinese. I have chosen Ningbo University for several key reasons that align with my academic and career goals.
Firstly, Ningbo University is a highly repu institution known for its high-quality education and its Double First-Class status in China. As a student Kazakhstan, I am looking for a professional environment I can build a strong foundation in the Chinese language before pursuing my further degree in Logistics Management.
Secondly, the location of the university is a decisive factor for me. Ningbo is one of the worlds most important logistics and shipping hubs, being home to the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. Since I plan to study Logistics Management in the future, living and studying in a city that is at the heart of global trade will provide me with invaluable context and motivation.

Program Description
1. Training Goal

2. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: This program is opened to teach the basics of the Chinese language and help students pass the HSK.
- This program is designed to cater to the global popularity, which is "Chinese-learning fever".
- It provides different levels of Chinese language courses to students.
- There are in total three class levels, each of which has 20 periods per week.
- There are six levels (A—F) of courses with qualified class arrangements designed for all sorts of learners.
3. Program Structure

3.1 Main courses

There are field trips, excursions, seminars, and some social activities with Chinese students.
4. Study and Assessment
Editor Notes: This program will be introduced in these three aspects, which are placement & assessment, rules of attendence, graduation.
4.1 Placement & Assessment
- Paying much attention to the prescribed study and assessment.
- Students will be divided into different classes according to their scores in the placement test.
- If the teachers and the ISO approve, students can be placed into a more suitable class upon your application.
- Students who fail the final exam for a particular course or miss it can be given a supplemental exam.
- Students who pass the supplemental exam, in the first situation, the score will be just "Pass", while in the next situation, the score for this course will be the real score he/her gets in the exam.
- Students' performance in both the final exam and the classes will determine their final scores.
- If the student fails in two exams, they can not carry on to the next-stage study.
4.2 Rules of attendance
- Students should be approved by the teacher of the lesson, and then submitted to the International Students Office for file in the period of leave which is no more than one day.
- And students should be approved by the International Students Office, and the students concerned should go through the relevant formalities in the period which exceeds one day.
- Students' absence from a particular course which includes all kinds of absence with or without leave should not exceed one third of the total periods of this course.
4.3 Graduation
- The students can get a certificate of this program if they have successfully accomplished all the prescribed courses.
- The student will get a proof of study according to the situation if he quits the study.

Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

Academic transcript in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
Graduating students should provide transcript up to the current stage and MUST provide complete transcript no later than registration.*3. Non-criminal Record Certificate
-Please note that this document is generally valid for only 6 months. For instance, if you submit your application in March, your non-criminal record must have been issued no earlier than September of the previous year.
-Obtain this certificate from the local police station of your current residence, confirming that you have had no criminal record during the 6 months prior to the date of issuance.
-If you are currently in China, the certificate must be issued by the local Chinese police.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated and notarized by an authorized agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.*4. Physical Examination Form
The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Physical Examination Record. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. The examination results are valid for 6 months.

Photo format: color 2-inch bareheaded photo, white background without border, photo size is not less than 40KB.
*6. Passport Information Page
The expiry date of the passport should be after March 1, 2027.
Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit. - Video
